What I Wear Running //May 2019

By Julia - 16:52:00

Since being interested in gear and what other runners use and believe in I want to do my share too. In these posts, I introduce my current gear favourites, head to toe, to you. So if you're interested here is what I wear running (most of the time) in May.

Nike Short Short Run Division HiCut Shorts (in Gunsmoke)
Anybody here for a high split short? Me for sure. Lightweight pant including a  sewn-in pantie. If this sewn in pant wasn't there my butt would be out for sure (because they cut really high). But comfort wise it doesn't get much better. The waist is elasticated and a drawstring helps you adjust if necessary. There are two pockets - yes, TWO. Unbelievable since there isn't much fabric, to begin with. One is on the back and another one, very tiny, sits on the inside in the front. But I wouldn't really trust neither of these pockets with anything of value. Fine for tissues, or dog treats. I still love these shorts.

Nike Printed Swoosh Bra
Two things to mention about this bra and the first being the most obvious: how beautiful is this print? I felt very lucky getting my hands on my size. Second: I just like Nike Sports Bras. I have a couple (the classic/ pro classic are almost the same style as this one), they fit me perfect and offer the right amount of support I need for all my more high impact exercises - from running to Muay Thai.
And if they come in print editions like this one I having nothing else to ask for!

Adidas T-Shirt Freelift Prime (in dark grey heather)
It's a very basic Tee. But in the best way. It is made of 97% polyester and 3% elastane and a lightweight, breathable T-Shirt. I do prefer a t-shirt over a tank top when it's not hot enough or on the other side if the sun is quite intense and I want to protect my shoulders. I wear mine in a size medium for a more loose fit.

Suunto Ambit3 Run + Heartrate Belt
My watch of choice. It still does the job for me until I have the money and willingness to spend it on a better running watch.

Nike Handheld Bottle 20oz
(Amazon link)
I am in Portugal. It is May. And it is already hot. As soon as I know I'll be over the half an hour mark it is necessary to bring water. For me and for the dog. This one fits a decent amount of liquid and carrying it doesn't bother me (plus it can hold my keys in a little zip pouch).

Stance Socks
Do I believe you need fancy socks for the majority of your runs? Not really. But do I like nice socks and do they make me feel professional? Yes and yes. Stance socks are collectables if you ask me even if the high ones give me the most stupid looking tan.

Salomon Sense Ride
Not much to say. For me my go-to shoe on the trails. If you'd like to know more about them read here.

What are your running/ workout go-tos at the moment?
