Homemade: Oat Milk

By Julia - 23:46:00

Making oat milk at home is surprisingly easy. It's done super fast and you don't need anything special to do it. I’m still working on the best recipe - the oat milk I’m producing so far works nice for baking or cooking but it can’t carry the taste of coffee for me (I do have a lot of milk in my coffee so it needs some substance). But I keep experimenting with it and of course, I will update you when I achieve the perfect version.

You need for one litre of oat milk:

  • 50 grams of oat flakes
  • 1litre of water (if you wanna end up with a litre of milk exactly, take a bit more.)
  • Pinch of salt

Blend the oat flakes to make them as fine as you can. Boil the water. Add the oat flakes and the salt. Let it boil gently for around 10 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh or cloth.

You can add flavours to it if you want. Vanilla, cacao, agave syrup or honey, cinnamon,...
Let me know if you have any tips for upgrades!

Plus it does work well for homemade Chai!
